With this powertrain equipped, the Ram 1500 churns out a whopping 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque. It’s a top choice for drivers who want to maximize output in a full-size truck. While providing the most get-up-and-go potential, it does have slightly lower towing and payload potential than its standard-output iteration: 10,000 pounds3 and 1,490 pounds,4 respectively.
As we’ve already mentioned, the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine is back, delivering the signature thunder of an eight-cylinder engine that so many drivers crave. This powertrain puts out 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque to give you the second-highest towing capacity of the bunch, rated for up to 11,320 pounds.3
