The All New Dodge Challenger

The 2021 model year finds the Dodge Challenger in a great place. It’s large, brawny, and tech-laden, with the Widebody package—which includes huge fender flares and 18-inch Low Gloss Granite or 20-inch Carbon Black aluminum wheels—now available to a wider range of its trim levels than ever before. The 2021 Dodge Challenger is available in seven trim levels, which are the following:
1. SXT
2. GT
3. R/T
4. R/T Scat Pack
5. SRT Hellcat
6. SRT Hellcat Redeye
7. SRT Super Stock

SXT: Even at the base SXT level, the 2021 Challenger is a performance-fueled car. Under the hood is the long-running Pentastar, a 3.6-liter V6 engine that outputs 305 horsepower for remarkable acceleration. The Pentastar is hitched to an eight-speed automatic transmission for smooth, easy shifts. Rear-wheel drive is standard for ensuring exceptional handling due to the balanced front-to-back weight distribution (engine in front, power shifted to the rear wheels). However, you can opt for an all-wheel drivetrain for all wheels to receive engine power and consequently improve their traction ability. As a five-seater, this vehicle has two rows of cloth-trimmed seats. The driver sits on a six-way power-adjustable seat and faces a leather-wrapped steering wheel—as well as a customizable 7-inch driver information digital cluster display nicknamed “The Control Room.” There’s another 7-inch display that serves as the touchscreen for integrating features that include the following:
• Six speakers
• AM/FM radio tuner
• Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free phone calling and audio streaming
• Two USB ports for playing content from or charging portable devices
• Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for smartphone integration
Other comfort and convenience features on the Challenger include remote keyless entry, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Driver assistance is provided by a rearview camera; depending on trim, you can add other driver safety aids, which include the following:
• Adaptive cruise control
• Automatic high-beam headlights
• Blind spot monitoring
• Rear cross traffic alert
• Forward collision warning
• Rear parking sensors
Six airbags—two frontal impact, two side impact, and two side curtain airbags)—are in the cabin to provide restraint and cushioning if there’s a crash.
GT: The GT comes with significant comfort, convenience, and safety upgrades. The cloth trim is upgraded, and the driver’s seat receives eight-way power adjustability instead of six. A universal transceiver is added for remote-controlling garage doors. The eight-speed gearbox comes with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters to make gear shifting more convenient. The rearview camera gets rear parking sensors for audio alerts when you get too close to something when backing out.
R/T: Notably, the R/T trim and higher are solely available as rear-wheel-drive vehicles. The Pentastar give way to a larger, 5.7-liter HEMI V8 for an output of 375 horsepower—and, consequently, much better acceleration. A six-speed manual gearbox replaces the eight-speed automatic transmission for absolute control of gear shifting.
R/T SCAT PACK: The RT Scat Pack ups the performance ante with several upgrades. The engine is now a 485-horsepower 6.4-liter HEMI V8, and this model receives a high-performance suspension and Brembo performance brakes. In addition, the R/T Scat Pack is upgraded with the following:
• Front-seat heating
• Steering-wheel heating
• Six-speaker Alpine premium stereo system
• 8.4-inch touchscreen (in place of the 7-inch)
• Trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio
Notably, the Widebody package is made optional at this trim level (as well as the SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye).
SRT HELLCAT: More performance upgrades await you if you go with the SRT Hellcat. This model is named after its supercharged 717-horsepower 6.2-liter V8. Other upgrades include the following:
• Six-piston Brembo front brakes
• Heavy-duty differential
• Open air intake
• Competition three-mode adjustable Bilstein suspension
SRT HELLCAT REDEYE: The Redeye is named for being a more powerful version of the SRT Hellcat. Its SRT engine is tuned from 717 horsepower to 797 horsepower.
SRT SUPER STOCK: The top-of-the-line SRT Super Stock is the most powerful version of the Dodge Challenger yet. That’s because it has its SRT engine tuned to an unparalleled 807 horsepower. Consequently, the SRT Super Stock can get from zero to 60 mph in 3.25 seconds.
