Dodge to Offer Ram That Runs on Compressed Natural Gas

Go to a gas station and take a long, hard look at the numbers you see staring down at you from the signage up above.  They're ugly, those numbers, often starting with frightening digits like "3," and ending with even more frightening numbers like "95."  The fact that "per gallon" tends to bring up the proverbial caboose on these signs makes it more painful than ever, which is why automakers like Chrysler are working so hard to find alternative fuel sources that could help save American wallets and, as a result, American retirement funds, college funds, and savings accounts, as well.

The electric vehicle has been well-publicized of late since it pushes out zero emissions and doesn't require any fuel, but vehicles that run on compressed natural gas (CNG) have grown very popular in certain areas of Europe, too.  Now, we here at San Antonio Chrysler Dodge Jeep have been given word that our engineers plan to put together a version of the Dodge Ram that also uses CNG, and consumers are going to love the financial implications of this particular pickup truck.

The truck will keep its grunt, running a 5.7-liter HEMI V8, but the engine will be modified to run the CNG, which right now costs the equivalent of about $2.00 per gallon.  There would also be an 8-gallon gasoline tank to serve as a backup in case fuel ran out where no CNG station existed.

It sounds like a pretty cool deal, and it's certainly something San Antonio 2012 Dodge Ram dealerships like us are excited to sell.  Everybody's looking for ways to save money at the pump, and this is one of them.  The power of a Ram, with half the cost of gas.  Who knew such a thing could be possible?
