Dodge Charger Pursuit to Be NASCAR Pace Car

For most us, the expectations for automotive performance are pretty reasonable.  After all, how much power do we need to pick up groceries at the store or take some kids to soccer practice?  There are a whole slew of vehicles capable of doing those things.

What there are not, however, are a whole slew of vehicles that can handle the performance needs of, say, a policeman or a NASCAR pace car.  No, the options out there for folks looking to perform either of those tasks would need a lot more power and a lot more customized performance options than just your regular ol' people pusher or grocery getter.

Honestly, the choice pretty much boils down to one: the 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit.

Folks that drive the standard Charger know what a beast it is, but cops and NASCAR planners have even more needs beyond that.  The most recent news is that one of the world's largest auto racing organizations is going to use the Charger Pursuit as a pace car for the Nationwide Series and the Spring Cup Series this month.

The police engine packages include a 3.5-liter Pentastar V6 that pushes out 292 horsepower, as well as a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that ratchets it up to 370 hp.  Both have blazing zero-to-sixty times, and either would be ideal for work on NASCAR tracks.

We've all got varying needs of performance for our cars, whether it be the sporty power of the Charger, or maybe more grunt for towing and hauling things in our new Dodge Ram. San Antonio dealerships like ourselves can take care of customers either way, but the Dodge Charger Pursuit is reserved for special purposes.  Still, wouldn't we all love to have that particular purpose?
